Annual Report for LGBT Youthline

LGBT Youthline Report
The LGBT YouthLine Annual Report was designed with a strong focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and youth-centered storytelling. The visual language reflects the organization’s values: hope, creativity, and support for LGBTQIA2S+ youth, while ensuring the content is clear and accessible to a broad audience.

Colour choices balance vibrancy with functionality. While the palette is bold and expressive, it was tested for accessibility and adjusted to meet WCAG and AODA contrast standards, ensuring all text remains readable for users with low vision or colour blindness.

Inspired by the LGBT YouthLine’s logo, organic linework and playful, rounded shapes are used throughout. These motifs represent movement, connection, and growth, mirroring the role YouthLine plays as a support system that meets young people where they are.

To protect the anonymity of the youth community and maintain a feeling of safety, I chose to replace photography with custom illustrations and abstract shapes. This approach also reinforces a more universal, inclusive narrative.

The final report successfully merged accessibility with expressive, youth-friendly design. Its thoughtful approach resonated so well with stakeholders and the community that it became the foundation for the following year’s report. Demonstrating the lasting impact of accessible, intentional design.
